Simon Chalk: If you find a job you love, you’ll never do another days work in your life

Welshman, Simon Chalk’s love for music began when he started playing the violin at 11. As he grew up, it was the nurturing of this musical talent that would see him go on to become an orchestral conductor of one of the highest of distinctions. He’s worked with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the Atlanta, Shanghai, Tokyo, Irish and St Petersburg orchestras, to name but a few. His talent crosses over into conducting popular music too, and has seen him work with a diverse range of musicians including, ‘Il Divo’, Chris de Burgh and Russell Watson and he has also collaborated with Westlife’s Nicky Byrne on a stage production of ‘The Snowman’. As well as talking to Sandro about his exceptional career, he treats us to a tinkle on the ivories!
