Paul Rowlett: Having an idea and doing something with it
Paul Rowlett served in the Royal Navy during the Gulf War but when he left in 2004 he found himself in a desperate situation, both homeless and penniless. After his house was repossessed in 2011 he was dependent on friends for a roof over his head. How he turned his life around is quite remarkable. Needing some focus in life, he set up an online business selling branded merchandise for various companies. When Leicester City Council approached him to become the city’s preferred supplier of merchandise for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, the demand for his products shot thorough the roof! Following this huge success, he went on to set up the online business ‘Everything Branded’ which now employs 120 people, turns over £17 million every year and is expanding into the USA. And through sheer determination and hard work, his homeless days are behind him and he is the proud owner of a £1 million home and a Ferrari! Paul talks to Sandro about how tough life was when he reached rock bottom and how he used his entrepreneurial spirit to drive him through the darkest of times into the most successful of times.
