Kristoffer Houlihan: Believing that anything is possible, regardless of what other people say

Kristoffer Houlihan, managing partner at private equity firm Armilla partners didn’t have the easiest start in life having been born with a very rare disability called sacral agenesis, resulting in him spending the first 12 years of his life in and out of Great Ormond Street Hospital. However, his disability hasn’t stopped his drive for success or desire to help others in business. Kris moved out to New York as managing director for Bank of New York’s alternatives trading platform before managing $10 billion of hedge funds in his next role. The lure of the west coast of the states came calling and Kris moved to California, growing the investment advisory platform Armilla Partners.Kris is a professor at the university of Southern California where he lectures on business and is a member of the Pacific Council on Foreign Policy. Kris also gives his time to some hugely transformative work with US military veterans and in particular Navy Seals, helping them transition from the military into success in business. Kris speaks to Sandro about having no choice other than to adapt when living with a disability, his love for the USA and how he uses his memories of how hard his life as a young man was, to help get him through the tough days that continue to arise on his journey.
