Anita Brightley-Hodges: Doing it the entrepreneurial way; when everyone goes left, I go right

I’m joined today by Anita Brightley-Hodges – a fantastic role-model for women in business and a shining example of compassion through the fundraising that she has done for numerous charities. Anita runs her own business as a specialist advisor to people that own their own family businesses. All businesses come with challenges, but when they’re family-run, they also come with their additional pressures. As wonderful it is to know you have set up a business that could be passed down from generation to generation, you also have overcome the hurdles of working with family, dealing with succession of the business and family disputes. Anita is the go-to woman to offer strategies to deal with these eventualities. In addition to this she offers wealth and well-being support to clients that are dealing with life-changing situations in her Associate role at ‘Saphora Private’…and somehow, in the middle of her incredibly busy and successful business life, she’s managed to complete numerous tough treks across the globe to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity. Anita talks to Sandro about her family business and what makes it work so well and she explains how she is able to help others, not only by using her wealth of experience but because she has personally lived many of the situations she helps people through, such as a marriage breakdown and the time in 2008 when, as she put it, she “lost everything”.
