In 1989 Tracy was the skipper of the first all-female crew to sail around the world in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Tracy, now a motivational speaker, had a tumultuous childhood that could have easily led her down a very different path but sailing and her beloved boat ‘Maiden’ in effect became her saviour. Her story is a rich and complex one, full of drama and sheer inspiration; from running away to Greece in her youth, to when she nearly lost her life on one of her sailing expeditions to bankruptcy to setting up the most fantastic charity that helps raise awareness for women’s education in developing countries.
