Elio Pace (2): Keeping control

Many of you may well be familiar with the name, Elio Pace, as he has been appearing on our screens, radios and stages since the 1980s. Elio started singing and playing at the piano at the age of 4 at his home in Surrey and from this very young age his musical talent was very apparent. He appeared on the BBC TV show ‘Bob Says Opportunity Knocks’ in 1988, singing and playing his own material and reached the final. This led to several prime-time TV appearances on shows presented by the TV icons of the time, including Terry Wogan, Michael Barrymore and Les Dawson. His musical career continued to grow over the following decades, during which time he both took to the stage to perform and was the Musical Director on a number of musical productions including, ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Dancing in the Street’, to name but a few! His achievements don’t end there – he formed ‘The Elio Pace Band’ in 1993, became a band member to both Shakin’ Stevens and Suzi Quato in 2004 and has toured with his ‘Elio Pace Plays the Billy Joel Songbook’ show since 2014.
